Pursuing the Dream of Cure: Global Insights into Perioperative Therapy of Esophagogastric Cancer
Advances in multimodal treatment are reshaping the therapeutic landscape of esophagogastric cancer and opening new perspectives for curative-intent strategies. Yet important questions remain: Which patients may benefit from organ preservation? How can perioperative treatment be optimized? And can selected patients with oligometastatic disease achieve long-term disease control or even cure?
Chaired by Prof. Dr. Salah-Eddin Al-Batran and hosted by Prof. Dr. Thorsten Götze, this international summit brings together leading experts from Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East to critically evaluate emerging evidence and discuss its implications for clinical practice.
Three dedicated sessions will address key challenges in the management of esophagogastric cancer: organ preservation in early-stage disease, evolving perioperative strategies for locally advanced resectable tumors, and the potential of curative-intent treatment in oligometastatic disease.
Beyond scientific evidence, the summit will explore regional differences in treatment approaches, regulatory approvals, access to innovative therapies, and real-world implementation. Interactive panel discussions will highlight areas of consensus, ongoing controversies, and opportunities for international collaboration.
The shared ambition: to translate scientific progress into meaningful advances in curative cancer care and bring the prospect of cure closer to more patients worldwide.
Pursuing the Dream of Cure will take place at the following times across different time zones:
